Wildlife: The main wildlife attraction is Lobeke Reserve, which features among others: beautiful black lemurs, the world’s smallest chameleon (Brookesia minima) and some of the world’s smallest frogs (Stumpffia pygmaea).
Hiking: Another popular tourist attraction is hiking, the opportunity to explore rear wildlife while on a fairly comfortable hike often prove to be irresistible to tourists.
Boat Trips: Several operators offer boat trips to the smaller islands of the archipelago. Excursions to Nosy Tanikely and Nosy Komba island are the most popular.
Donia Festival: Arguably the biggest draw-card to the island, the Donia festival is an annual celebratory event that takes place at the end of May (beginning of June). The festival celebrates cultures from across the Indian Ocean. Over 50 thousand people visit the island during this time to see acts from Mauritius, Réunion and Comoros perform. The festival also features a carnival, motorized races, parties, seminars and other sporting events.
